First off I am going to plug The Pheebs because well, she said somehing really nice about me, and shes a wonderful girl and deserves it. So there.

Ok, time to play catch up.....what did Ivy get for Christmas?

Well, forget Christmas, am still admiring and in awe over Sideshow-Weta Boromir ststue! ~Pets Boromir~

Oh yes, Christmas, thats where I was!

Firstly I got Maps of Middle Earth, this GORGEOUS Tolkien boxed set, it has a book explaining Tolkiens geography and then four DROP-DEAD GORGEOUS, full-color maps, one is Numenor, the other tracks the travleing done in The Hobbit, the other is all of Middle Earth, and the last is Beleriand.

Ahem.....

So yes, the boxed set is gorgeous, MUST FIND FRAMES FOR MAPS!

I also got The Return of The Shadow, Torn's book The Peoples Guide to Middle Earth which I HIGHLY reccomend, and a gorgeous LOTR 2004 day planner with wonderful pictures in it. YAY!

Then came gift cards for Hot Topics and Barnes and Nobles. The Hot Topics card was mostly used on other peoples late gifts but I did get some glow in the dark bracelets and such trinkets.

The Barnes and Nobles card was used on a miasma of Tolkien Books and the Tao of Pooh and the Te of Piglet. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY reccomend those books, superbly written, witty and so much fun to read. Plus I guarnatee you really will learn something from them.

I also got a GORGEOUS onyx nd sterling silver ring, very pretty and elvish. A gorgeous silver bracelet with dried flowers and swarkovski crystals in it and earings to match.

THEN I got the Limited Edition, leather bound version of the FOTR and ROTK soundtracks, that made my day, now I have all three. They are gorgeous....{Billy singing....le-swoon}

I also got the limited edition There and Back Again Hobbit action figure gift pack. It's Bilbo, Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin! Pippin is even wearing his wee scarvie! EEEE!

Then came the Ted Nasmith illustrated ROTK calendar, and the huge ROTK calendar with pics from the movie, it's a poster calendar basically.

I got adorable Tinkerbell pajamas with glitter all over them. Also one of my BEST gifts was hiding in my stocking from my boyfriend.

You know I collect old 80's my little ponies, well there was Baby Licorice a super-rare baby my little pony only released in the U.K., I took her everywhere with me on Christmas.

I got a Merry and Pippin shirt and a Frodo shirt which is all glittery and blue.....very cool. And a PIPPIN BOBBLEHEAD! Tis the cutest thing ever!

Now on to gifties from my sisters {And yes, lots of peoples gifts are on the way, I wrapped alot of presents last night, and also on the way are letters!}

Kate: My shooting Star sent me a Terry Pratchett book1 YAY! And a drop-dead gorgeous, sparkly, glittery Tinkerbell shirt! Much luff to my Kate!~Winks and snugs~

Tai Sent me the animated version of ROTK, she was my Secret Santa! WHEEEE! I love it Tai, thanks so much!

Beckers and Fruthy gave me the super-cool spiffy Tragedy doll from Hot Topics, Thank you Ladies, she matches Misery perfectly and a awesome my little pony pin, which is happily perched on my purse.

From Gina I recieved afore-mentioned beautiful, sparkly jeweled horn of Gondorish knife-dagger! SQUEEE! And gorgeous Hobbity drinking glass! DOUBLE SQUEEE!

Now yesterday was a perfect day.

Why?

Well, I had laid down late afternoon to take a nap because I had a icky headache. The mail comes and there are two packages.

One is a box of Fairy Tail birds I won from E-bay, so I open that first, ooooh and aaaah over them and place them on my shelf with the others. The other is a package from my most beloved sister and best friend Tina Gamgee

I open it, there is one of my birthday presents, and one of my christmas presents. The others being on the way. Everything was gorgeous, Tina takes so much time in wrapping her packages and such. Stickers on the letter, a hand-made Lorien leaf enevelope, little blue, glittery stars everywhere. Quite frankly I hate opening her things they always look so pretty.

I open the big package first and inside is a gorgeous blank book, a huge book with recycled paper. She got ir for me to write my poetry in, and on the front is a little silver elephant! GORGEOUS!

Inside the lorien leaf envelope is a plastic sleeve guard with something inside. I pull it out in the dark, it looked like a picture of Merry, Pip and Treebeard, I quirk my brows, turn on the light and then nearly pass out......instead I just scream, very loudly. Loudly enough to get all three of my dogs in my room wondering if osmeon was trying to kill me.

Because ON IT is BILLY BOYD'S AUTOGRAPH!

I couldnt believe it!

I still cant believe it, I have to kepp looking at it.

Then my day gets even better, boyfriend gets home, we eat and decide to go to Blockbuster to rent a game for his new P2.......

I have been looking for the new ROTK action figures, no luck yet. We have called around, everyplace said they wouldnt have them until the 16th. So rather dis-enchanted I gave up.

Then last night I get a weird feeling, the same weird feeling that prompted me into Wal-Mart in search of Galadriel, Prologue Elf, and Twilight Ringwraith.....after I was told they wouldnt have them for another week. So despite my better judgement I head into Wal-Mart.

Nothing on the shelves, but as I am walking away, I notice they are stockking, so I check out the boxes.

Like the holy grail is a box that reads.....

"ToyBiz.....ROTK Case Assortment 6 inch action figures"

I nearly had a heart attack.

Cue me grabbing sales associate and begging her to open box, which she does saying shes glad I asked because alot of people open them themselves.

I kept quiet and didnt mention had I not found her I would have carried entire box to other section of the store, opened it, taken my figures and ran.

So she opens it, lo and behold there is my Haradrim archer, my Kind Aragorn and BEST OF ALL the short-packed PIPPIN IN ARMOR!

Squeee! So then I scan them under the little thingie, thinking surely only Pippin is coming home as I had little cash on me, it was all at home.....

THEN the scanner reads despite my disbelief 4.98 a figure!

EEEEE! It must have been a mix-up because TTT figures were on clearance for the same, not caring about that I scoop up all 3 and scream gleefully.

Was TO happy!

So on a more serious note.

I have coem to see this quote in a new light.

I am sure you have encountered them. The fantasy-haters, the fairy and magic killers, the people who scoff and sneer, say fantasy is cheap, it has run its course.

We have all met them.

Well, basically thats it. We, we who believe sweat, bleed, toil and endure their snickers and sneers to keep them safe.

We really do. Because of us convincing other people to believe, and working so hard just to believe ourselves they are kept safe in their warm little unimaginative minds.

We expend our time, love and energy and because of this we prevent alot of bad things I think. Granted they may be minor but we do.....we stop someone from being sad, suicidal, giving up, hating themselves.......

And all the while the true magic is hidden behind a veil that only we can see past.

And they still snicker and sneer.

And we smile.

So kep smiling, one day they will learn.
